Ramoji Film City is about 210 km from Jagtial, roughly 3 to 4 hours by car, and there is no direct bus. We can also book your tickets and run the whole day for you.
We can run the whole Ramoji Film City trip from Jagtial for you. We book your film city tickets, collect you from your home early in the morning, drive you there, wait while you are inside, and bring you home the same night. One booking, one price, nothing for you to organise.
Ramoji Film City tickets: book online first
Do this before anything else. Buy your tickets in advance on the Ramoji Film City booking site, so nobody is standing in a queue at the gate at the start of an already long day.
- Standard studio tour: around Rs. 1550 an adult on weekdays and Rs. 1650 at weekends and on holidays, with children a little less (September 2026 prices, they change often, so check the site).
- Children's tickets go by height, not age, and very small children go free. The current heights are listed at booking time.
- Costlier packages exist with an AC coach and a restaurant lunch, if you'd rather not queue for food.
Or leave it to us. Tell us the date and how many adults and children are coming, and we'll book the tickets for you along with the car. That way the tickets, the drive there, the waiting and the drive home are all one booking.
Leave Jagtial by about 4am
The film city opens at 9am and closes at 5:30pm, and everything inside runs on that clock. Our advice is to be at the gate by 8am, not 9am. That hour spare lets everyone stretch, freshen up and eat something before a long day on your feet, instead of arriving flustered and going straight in.
| Time | What's happening |
|---|---|
| About 4:00 am | We pick you up from your home in Jagtial |
| About 8:00 am | Reach Ramoji Film City, rest and have breakfast |
| 9:00 am | Gates open, the tour buses start from the gate |
| 5:30 pm | Closing time, you come out to the car |
| About 9:30 pm | Back home in Jagtial |
That's a long day, roughly 4am to 9:30pm. It's the main reason most families take a driver for this one: everybody can sleep on the way there and on the way back.

Jagtial to Ramoji Film City: how to get there
There is no direct bus from Jagtial to Ramoji Film City. By bus you'd travel to Hyderabad first and then take a city bus or cab out to the park, which eats most of the morning. The train is worse for this trip, around 7 hours with two changes.
By car it's about 210 km. The film city is on the far side of Hyderabad, so the route goes around the city on the Outer Ring Road instead of through the traffic. If you're flying in or out around the same trip, our Jagtial to Hyderabad airport guide covers that run.
What to expect inside Ramoji Film City
- You don't drive inside. Park at the entrance and the film city's own buses take you around from the gate.
- The bus tour is the backbone of the day, taking you between the film sets and gardens, so there's less walking than people expect.
- Sets and shows: the Bahubali set is the one everyone wants, along with the action and space shows, and Fundustan for younger children.
- Outside food isn't allowed in, so plan to eat at the restaurants and food courts inside, or take the lunch package.
Tips for the day
- Do the indoor shows in the afternoon, when it's hottest outside.
- Wear comfortable shoes, there's still plenty of walking between stops.
- November to February is the most comfortable time of year for this trip.
- Keep your ticket handy on your phone, along with the booking confirmation.
