Hyderabad airport (Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, at Shamshabad) is about 235 km from Jagtial. By car it takes around 3.5 to 4 hours. Self-drive to the airport, Rs. 2200
Most people who take one of our self-drive cars to the airport are family members going to drop off or pick up someone. It's Rs. 2200 plus fuel, and you bring the car back to Jagtial the same way. The car can't be left at the airport, so this won't work if you're the one flying out.

To be honest about it: if you're travelling alone with one bag, the bus is the cheaper choice and it does the job. For a family, heavy suitcases, an elderly parent, or a flight at 3am, the car is usually worth it.
The route from Jagtial to Shamshabad airport
Our drivers mostly go via Vemulawada. When the traffic or the time of day makes it better, they go via Karimnagar instead. Either way you join the Rajiv Highway down to Hyderabad and then the Outer Ring Road (ORR) round to the airport, so you don't have to go through the city.

When to leave Jagtial for your flight
Allow about 4 hours for the drive, which leaves room for traffic near Hyderabad. Then add the time your airline wants you at the airport: usually 2 hours before a domestic flight and 3 hours before an international one. Always check what your airline says.

Picking someone up at Shamshabad airport
- Send us the flight number and landing time. We'll set off so the car is there when they come out.
- International arrivals take a while. After landing, it usually takes about an hour to clear immigration and collect bags.
- Don't wait at the arrivals kerb. Only a few minutes there are free, after that parking charges apply. It's easier to wait in the car park and drive up once they have their bags.
