Jagtial temple trips by car: Kondagattu, Dharmapuri and Vemulawada

Distances from Jagtial, how to fit the temples into a day, and what a car costs.

Short answer

Kondagattu is about 15 km from Jagtial and Dharmapuri about 30 km, so you can do both in one easy day. Vemulawada is a longer drive and works better as its own trip. A Baleno is Rs. 800 for 12 hours (up to 100 km) or Rs. 1200 for 24 hours, a driver is on average Rs. 1200 to Rs. 1500 a day on top, and fuel is yours.

Many families around Jagtial visit these three temples, and more so at festival time and when relatives are visiting. Here is how far each one is, and how to plan the day.

Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy temple

The Anjaneya Swamy temple at Kondagattu sits on a hill, about 15 km from Jagtial. It's the closest of the three, so it fits easily into a morning. Our areas page lists Kondagattu among the places we cover.

Dharmapuri Lakshmi Narasimha temple

Dharmapuri is about 30 km from Jagtial. Its Lakshmi Narasimha temple is dedicated to Narasimha and his consort Lakshmi, and is known for drawing large crowds. It dates back to the Chalukya period and was expanded by the Kakatiyas.

Vemulawada Raja Rajeswara Swamy temple

Vemulawada is in Rajanna Sircilla district, and its main temple is Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy, also called Rajanna. It's further out than the other two, so we'd plan it as its own trip or an early start. Tell us where you're setting off from and we'll give you the distance and the price.

Doing two temples in one day

Using the distances above, Kondagattu and Dharmapuri together come to about 90 km at most from Jagtial and back. That fits inside the 12 hour, 100 km price. Check temple timings before you set off, and tell your driver if you want a stop for breakfast or a rest on the way.
